Our Season of Giving campaign was a huge success. Thanks to our amazing community, we raised our goal of $75,000 for four local charities: Every Meal, The Link, Free Bikes 4 Kidz, and 360 Communities. These organizations are doing incredible work tackling hunger, homelessness, lack of transportation, and other critical issues in our community. Your generosity will make a real difference in countless lives.
And it wouldn’t be year-end without one of our all-time favorite campaigns. For the 5th year in a row we teamed up other dealers in the Twin Cities and Newgate School’s Wheels for Women program to give 12 incredible single moms cars for Christmas. Seeing the pure joy on their faces as they received their surprise was a moment we’ll never forget. But it wasn’t just about the cars – our amazing community filled those cars to the brim with toys, gift cards, game tickets, and so much more! The outpouring of love and support was truly heartwarming.
We’re so grateful to everyone who participated in both initiatives. Together, we’ve made a real difference this holiday season – bringing joy to 12 deserving families and supporting vital organizations that make our community a better place. The spirit of generosity is alive and well at Apple Autos this holiday season. We’re excited to share that we are well on our way to reaching our $75,000 goal of giving back to local charities, having already achieved 44% of our target. The Season of Giving at Apple Autos has been a heartwarming journey, with numerous contributions that have made a meaningful impact in our community.
Because of our amazing customers, employees and community, we have donated 1,020 meal bags and over 1,780 pounds of food to local food shelves. These contributions are vital in providing nourishment to those facing challenging times. Additionally, we have proudly donated a collective amount of $33,531 to three incredible organizations: Every Meal, 360 Communities, and Free Bikes 4 Kidz. These organizations work tirelessly to support those who require assistance, and we are honored to be a part of their mission.
But the Season of Giving is far from over! In November, we’re ramping up our efforts by pledging to donate $25 for every new or used vehicle sold at any Apple Autos location to The Link. The Link is a remarkable organization dedicated to helping youth and families in poverty, and we are thrilled to contribute to their impactful mission.
As we approach the end of the year, we’re gearing up for our annual “12 Moms of Christmas” campaign. This heartwarming initiative sees us partnering with local dealers to gift 12 vehicles to 12 deserving single moms in our community. But that’s not all—our dear friends, Amy and Anugrah, are joining us to raise additional donations to stuff the trunks of these vehicles with toys, gift cards, and various services to pamper these moms and their children. Another year in the books, and another year that left us speechless. Alongside many friends and family, purple-heart veterean, William Bloedow joined us in honoring him during Military Appreciation Day at the Great Minnesota Get Together.
Together with Wells Fargo, we presented him with a payment-free 2023 Ford Bronco Sport, and filled it with gifts based on his interests of hiking, hunting, and fishing.
We continue to be floored by the generosity of our community and organizations like Military Warriors Support Foundation who work to ensure heroes like William have a smooth transition after their time in active duty.
At Apple Autos, we know buying a new vehicle can be one of the biggest & most exciting, purchases people make. That’s why this vehicle donation program, and partnership with Wells Fargo & Military Warriors Support Foundation, really hits home for us. It’s so rewarding to be able to provide a new car to a veteran and help remove the financial burden of a car payment for them.
We owe a big thanks to our amazing employees and customers, who help make it possible for us to give back and support our community and military service members in this way.
It was 1993, and the worst performing Ford store in the Twin Cities had recently fallen forward under a new owner and new name. And while fresh leadership and tasteful rebranding would certainly ensure lateral success, an entirely new philosophy was what was going to drive it high.
This new philosophy would require a bit of off-roading from the status-quo. It was time to put something new on the auto world map; time to give the automotive industry a brand-new reputation.
In revisiting all the brands we knew, companies we loved, and most memorable places we’d been, we found one common denominator. It wasn’t building aesthetics, the location, or even the product that stuck with us, it was always the people.
Today, 30 years later, we are humbled and grateful. For the fifth year in a row, Apple Autos was named a Star Tribune Top Workplace of 2023. Not only were we ranked #39, but we were also the top Automotive Dealer.
Since we opened our doors in 1993, we committed ourselves to building a culture that shattered industry stereotypes, and we started with our people.
We asked one of our employees who has been with us since the very beginning what one of his most memorable moments was with Apple Autos. He recalled the first time he went out to clean off cars after a heavy Minnesota snowfall in ’94.
“I noticed the owner was right there with us, dusting off the vehicles. It showed me that this was a place that worked more like a family than like a business. It was nice to be treated like a person rather than just an employee.”
We said it then, and still today. We have nothing of greater value than our people. They are the secret sauce to our success.
And we still believe the best is yet to come!
