See How You Helped Donate 50k to Local Charities in 2018

From Transits packed with teddy bears to F-150’s full of fun-sized freight trains.

We had an amazing season of giving in 2018 at Apple Autos. Thanks to our amazing customers and staff, we were able to donate $50,000 to local charities who are dedicated to positively impacting children in our community. We are humbled to have the opportunity to give back and don’t take it for granted.

At Apple Autos, it’s never been just about selling cars, but about impacting our community. While a car undoubtedly affects our day-to-day lives, we know there are always ways to go the extra mile when it comes to investing in the next generation.

This last November through December we launched our first ever Give Back to Kids Event. $25 of every new or used vehicle sold across all 5 of our locations was donated to the customers’ charity of choice. At each store we had snazzy displays with 5 cylinders representing the five charities we supported to during the event. The $25 was represented by a single ping-pong ball in which the customer would drop into the cylinder paired with their charity of choice.

All five charities were geared toward improving the quality of life of our young people—so there really was no poor choice! It was a win-win situation no matter what charity our customers chose. And fortunately, the results came back nearly even!

While every charity had their own edge that tugged on different customers’ heart strings, The Sheridan Story finished with a slight lead with 23% customer choice! We can’t say we’re surprised. The Sheridan Story mission is rooted in fighting child hunger. It’s the heartbeat of The Sheridan Story that all families are provided with nutritious food that retains their dignity.

*Fun Fact, if you purchased a vehicle from Apple Autos this last winter and chose The Sheridan Story for your $25 donation, you played a part in providing over 50 kids with meals for the entire year! That’s something to celebrate.

What if I didn’t buy a car, but came in for routine maintenance in November/December?

We’re glad you asked! Every single one of our serviced customers had the opportunity to round up to the nearest dollar. Those proceeds were divided evenly among the 5 charities.

Of course, there were four other outstanding charities to choose from. Free Bikes 4 Kidz seemed to be a fan favorite as well. Following close behind was Girls On the Run, Roots for The Home Team, and 360 Communities. To learn more about what these charities are all about, click here!

We don’t think all good things should have to come to an end, which is why we’re committing to another year of giving. Big events are already in the works for 2019! So stay tuned, folks.
