The Twin Cities Auto Show… What’s the point?

The publicity around auto shows often centralize themselves around introducing redesigned models and futuristic concepts. Expect a plethora of show cars shimmering on a stage, rotating slowly to reveal just how many good sides each of them have. But of course, there is more to offer than ooh’s and ahh’s. Car shoppers will find all the major auto companies and nearly every car on the market now (or soon to be) at these events.

Myth: 10 million consumers attend U.S. Auto shows every year.

Fact: 11 million consumers attend U.S. autos shows every year.

It’s like March Madness, but for the automotive industry. Even people who aren’t particularly basketball nuts get into betting on brackets during the NCAA tournament–even those who don’t attend a single game! And it’s a similar story for the Auto Show. Even if you don’t get the chance to go, there are many reasons to participate.

It’s not every day that you have the chance to get behind the wheel of every make/model you could ever dream of. Not only are you getting up close and personal with your favorite auto brands, but you’re also doing hands-on research during the greatest season to purchase a vehicle, statistically speaking.

Obviously auto shows ring hype among car enthusiasts, but they are seemingly just as popular with consumers in the market to purchase a new car. Yes, Auto Show isn’t just great for those in attendance, but for all those in the market! We’re gonna let you in on a little secret: Dealers take full advantage of all the automotive hype and typically offer incredible incentives on their vehicles.

According to the NADA (National Automobile Dealers Association), many customers confess that attending a show makes them feel more confident and informed about a vehicle they’ve been waiting to purchase.
